I've been working in banking and administration most of my working life. My last job before starting YIC with Mollie, was as the Exams Officer for a local alternative provider. Working there for seven years gave me a real passion for helping young people to achieve the best they could regardless of their circumstances and I love seeing the difference we make to young people who use our service and their families.
Seeing Mollie's enthusiasm and dedication to working therapeutically with young people has led me down the path of my own counselling training. I having completed both level 2 and 3 in counselling skills and I am now officially a student counsellor having recently started my level 4 advanced diploma!
I also run Redlake Ceramics where I take my love of clay and use it to make therapeutic items such as thumb stones, labyrinths and emotion stones. For me, clay is a therapy all of its own and I love that I can use this in conjunction with my love of mindfulness and meditation.
When I'm not working at YIC, or in my studio, I've learnt that a little self-care is very important and I enjoy being in nature; gardening and walking around the gorgeous South Devon countryside, coastline and Dartmoor.
