This will be a collaborative based training workshop where you will learn hands-on, creative activities to help support young people's emotional needs and to allow therapeutic work to take place through creative medium.
This training will cover:
-Where to start/Using a physical toolbox of therapeutic, creative goodness!
-Neuroscience; why is working creatively effective? Especially with young people?
-Activity; Islands of Me.
-Activity; Life stories & family maps with figures.
-Activity; Creative coping strategies.
-Summary & questions
This training is primarily recommended for those working with young people therapeutically e.g. therapists and counsellors, as well as educators and support staff who are responsible for the emotional regulation and well-being of a child. If parents are interested in attending please get in touch to discuss this with us further.
Food is not provided, however there will be tea, coffee and biscuits available during our breaks and at lunch. There are plenty of shops and cafes nearby if you wanted to buy lunch or other food, and there are plenty of nice places to walk and sit if you fancy taking your lunch break outside.
