Counsellors Clay Wellbeing Group

The CCWG has been set up to help counsellors (and trainees who are in placement) feel more connected to their peers alongside spending time on supporting their own wellbeing and self care.  Counselling, particularly in private practice, can make us feel quite alone and isolated at times.  The confidentiality nature of our work means we aren't able to talk about this with friends, relatives and loved ones so having a safe space to come and talk to each other about the intricacies and practicalities of what we do whilst being creative and supporting our own wellbeing is definitely needed.  This will be a safe space for us to connect but it is not a peer supervision group.  This group is more aimed at social connection and wellbeing within in our community.

The benefits:

  • A supportive peer community

  • Professional growth & development

  • Stress relief & burnout prevention

  • Mindfulness, creativity & play

  • Networking & social connection

  • Self care engagement

CCWG is a monthly get together lasting six months where we will explore a new wellbeing theme each session and use clay to represent this.  Each session will involve making a piece of a wellbeing stack that at the end of the six months will be fired in Kerry's kiln and you'll be able to take home and decorate to remind you of the time you've spent with colleagues from the CCWG.  Each session will last 2 hours and costs £30 per session and is run by Kerry.  Groups are kept fairly small with 6-8 participants.
The cost includes:
12 hours of guided clay time, all material and tools, refreshments, firing of clay pieces, a final meet up to collect pieces, access to a private Facebook group, free parking and networking & friendship opportunities.

The next one starts on Saturday 25th January, 10am - 12 midday and the dates are as follows:
25th January, 15th February, 22nd March, 26th April, 24th May & 28th June with one final day to be arranged between us for a final meet up to collect pieces.

For a booking form and any questions then please email Kerry on kerry@youthinterventioncentre.com.

(Please note: this is not a drop in/drop out type of group and people should aim to be able to attend at least 5 of the 6 sessions to enable the full benefit of what the group will gain from each other)
