Email Counselling

Kerry has completed additional training in email counselling with the Email Counselling Academy but what is email counselling?

Email counselling is really what it sounds like - counselling using the email format.  This is an accessible way to have therapy that doesn't involve you having to be available for a set day and time period like you would if you were in-person or online.

Email counselling is set up by using a secure email where you and your counsellor schedule a day and time for you to send your email and then for your counsellor to reply, usually two working days later.  There are a few rules around it, like a word limit for instance but it can really help if you are the type of person who prefers writing over talking.

Maybe you prefer to formulate and process what you want to say over several days or possibly you prefer to not have any face to face interaction for many different reasons.

It also helps with finding the right time that works for you if for instance, you are a shift worker or work unsocial hours.  Perhaps you're a big traveller and commiting to a specific session every week really doesn't work for you.

If you'd like more information on this type of counselling and how it works, get in touch and we can send you our guide.  If you'd like more information about Kerry then please see our meet the team page.
